The Essential Cardigan
Spring is nearly upon us. Well, it’s still officially winter and freezing but there’s only really one month until cardigan weather begins. Soon the worries of getting our furs matted in the rain, of whether military boots really are appropriate snow shoes or if those pretty patterned tights will protect from potential frostbite, will be a thing of the past.
The only worry left for us is which cardigan to throw on to protect from the gentle spring breeze while prancing amongst the crocuses (and if March is too early to start wearing sandals). So, while it might still be a bit too early to throw those chunky knits to the back of the wardrobe, it certainly is time to be stocking up on our favourite layering essential in preparation for spring/summer 2011.
In reality, there’s not much to say about cardigans. It’s difficult to go wrong with them (except for maybe layering over a Marchesa black tie gown) and so they’re the perfect item to experiment with to create a new look for the spring.
